Abstract

The invention provides a connection method for large-packing force thin plates and an internally locking-type single-drum rivet. The connection method includes the steps as follows: 1) manufacturing a rivet comprising an annular handle latch section, a snap ring, a feed rod section, a locking slot, a separation groove, a floriated toothed segment and a tail kerve section, as well as manufacturinga lantern ring comprising a straight sleeve and a head part; 2) assembling the rivet and the lantern ring, mounting the assembly of the rivet and the lantern ring into a mounting hole, and inserting a riveter; 3) starting the riveter so as to move the rivet backwards and bulging the straight sleeve; 4) moving the rivet backwards continuously, and moving the annular handle latch section backwards after the annular handle latch section penetrates an inner hole of the snap ring; and 5) when the resistance force of the snap ring reaches a certain value, compressing the locking slot in the sleeve,and cracking from the separation groove, so as to fulfill connection. The invention has the advantages that according to the stress and deformation characteristics of the single-drum rivet, and through the adoption of the structure with the annular handle latch section and the snap ring, the automatic regulation of deformation and pressure during riveting is realized, and the rivet is kept in a clamping state all the time, so as to provide stable riveting performance and optimize riveting quality; as the head part of the lantern ring still adopts a round head structure, pressure is uniformly distributed on the surface of a riveting plate effectively, so as to protect a piece to be riveted. The invention is particularly suitable for single-side connection of thin plates requiring large packing force.
