The embodiment of the invention provides a document switching method and a device for the same, which are convenient for users to locate the needed chapters quickly while reading the document so as to improve reading efficiency. The method comprises the following steps of: displaying a chapter switching button on a display device; activating the chapter switching button; displaying the chapter corresponding to a chapter serial number displayed by a chapter display domain, and the title of the chapter successive to the chapter corresponding to the chapter serial number displayed by the display domain; and after receiving a selection instruction for the displayed title of the chapter successive to the chapter corresponding to the chapter serial number displayed by the display domain, switching the currently displayed chapter according to the selection instruction. The document switching method provided by the embodiment of the invention can maximize the reading window, and also can make the users know the tile and the name of the chapter of the currently read document clearly, so that the users can locate the needed chapters quickly, and the efficiency of searching and reading is improved greatly.
