Abstract

A contactless transponder device is equipped with multiple ICs. The first IC includes first contactless transponder interface circuitry configured to provide a first identifier of the first IC in response to the contactless field. The second IC includes second contactless transponder interface circuitry configured to provide a second identifier of the second IC in response to the contactless field. The controller is configured to disable the first IC from responding to the contactless field.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to coordinating multiple contactless data carriers. Background technique [0002] Contactless technology, sometimes referred to as radio frequency identification or "RFID," has the potential to be used in all areas of people's daily activities. In some implementations, a contactless transponder (sometimes referred to as an RFID tag) includes circuitry located on an integrated circuit. The integrated circuit includes control logic that can be connected to an antenna for wireless communication with an external reader. Some contactless transponders are considered passive because they are powered by an electromagnetic field generated by an external reader. Therefore, passive contactless transponders do not require an internal energy source to transmit data. Other contactless transponders are considered active in that they use an internal energy source to provide the transmission function. [0003] Many different applicati...
