Embodiment Construction

[0014] The following examples relate to powered machines / tools such as grinders, grinders or polishers. The machine can be driven pneumatically or electrically, with various couplings provided for this purpose.

[0015] Figure 1A One embodiment of a grinder 10 is shown. The device has a rotating and / or oscillating circular grinding disc 102 to which abrasive material can be attached. The rotational and / or oscillating motion of the grinding disc is provided by a motor arranged within the motor housing 104 . In other embodiments, the abrasive tool may have other forms, rectangular or triangular, and only oscillate.

[0016] A handle 106 is provided above the motor housing 104, and the handle 106 is particularly suitable for grasping with one hand. The handle can be round and sized so that the fingers rest around the handle 106 when the palm of the hand is placed on the top surface of the handle. Near the handle is provided an actuating lever 108 which controls the function ...

Abstract

A handheld machine, comprising a first grip (106) for receiving a first hand of a user of the machine, a second grip (118) for receiving a second hand of the user of the machine, and at least one coupling (114) for connecting the handheld machine to a flexible line (116). The second grip (118) extends in its usage position over the coupling (114) but is displaceable from this position. In one embodiment the second grip (118) can be pivoted to lock an actuating lever (108) so that the actuating lever (108) can not be actuated.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a hand-held machine, such as a grinder or polisher. Background technique [0002] Grinding and polishing jobs with electric or pneumatic machines present many challenges. On curved and complex surfaces, the machine needs to be very dexterous and easy to turn, while on large surfaces, high grinding pressure needs to be maintained in a static manner for a long time. The operator should be able to easily change the working handle between one-handed and two-handed mode to avoid static stress. This requirement also arises from the fact that sometimes the working space is so narrow that only one-handed work is permitted, while the use of both hands is preferable on larger continuous surfaces. [0003] Existing hand-held machines are generally intended and adapted for either one-handed or two-handed use, but few are adequately adapted for both modes of operation. Contents of the invention [0004] It is an object of the present i...
