Abstract

Provided is an antibacterial agent which is useful for the removal of pink mold produced in the living environments. The antibacterial agent is obtained by combining a quaternary ammonium salt that is described as the component (A) below and an organic solvent that is described as the component (B) below. (A) One or more quaternary ammonium salts selected from among dialkyl dimethyl ammonium salts and alkyl benzyl dimethyl ammonium salts. (B) One or more organic solvents selected from among aromatic alcohols, aromatic aldehydes and the compounds represented by formulae (1) and (2) (wherein R represents an alkyl group or alkenyl group having 5-10 carbon atoms or a benzyl group; A represents an alkylene group having 1-10 carbon atoms; and n represents a number of 0-5 and the n-numbered A groups may be the same or different).
