Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for playing a multimedia series flow. The system comprises plural networking devices and a display device. The plural networking devices are communicated with one another through a network, and the display device is used for displaying the multimedia series flow. The plural networking devices exchange processing capacity information of the devices and one networking device which is provided with best processing capacity information is appointed as a main networking device. The main networking device distributes the multimedia series flow to the plural networking devices according to the processing capacity information of the plural networking devices, and transmits distribution and scheduling information to the display device. The plural networking devices decode the distributed multimedia series flow into the decoded multimedia series flow and transmit the decoded multimedia series flow to the display device. The display device plays the decoded multimedia series flow according to the distribution and scheduling information. The method and the system can rapidly decode video films of high density and high compression, and the video films can be played stably and smoothly.
