Abstract

Disclosed are a partition balancing method, device and control server in a distributed storage system. The method comprises: determining the latest state of each partition when partition balancing is needed; performing partition balancing processing according to the latest state of each partition, so as to obtain a correlation among a source node, a migration partition on the source node and a target node; and sending a migration task to the target node in the correlation, wherein the migration task comprises: the source node corresponding to the target node and the migration partition on the source node in the correlation; and the migration task is used for indicating to the target node to trigger the data migration between the target node and the source node corresponding thereto, the data migration referring to the migration of data in the migration partition on the source node to the target node. The present application can achieve the partition balancing of a distributed storage system, i.e. achieve data recovery and online capacity expansion.
