In particular, the present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for providing an atomized, metered dose of lubricant to a hairpin in an automated fashion. Because the dosage of lubricant can be tightly controlled, the amount of lubricant required prior to expansion is greatly reduced, which greatly reduces the costs associated with producing coated (lubricated) hairpins.
