Abstract

The invention provides an efficient automated instrument for extraction of bioactive substances. The instrument comprises: a housing, a base plate, a workbench, magnetic needles and a magnetic needle moving mechanism, casing pipes and a casing pipe moving mechanism, and a vibrating mechanism. The vibrating mechanism can generate vibration to make the casing pipe moving mechanism vibrate up and down. Specifically, the magnetic needles can be vertically inserted into and removed from the casing pipes, and the casing pipes can be vertically inserted into and removed from a sample treatment area. The vibrating mechanism comprises a lever arm, a movable fulcrum and a rotating mechanism. According to the arrangement, no matter how the vibration amplitude changes, the lowest point of the amplitude does not change. The invention also provides a method using the instrument to extract and purify bioactive substances, particularly nucleic acid.
