Abstract

A charging circuit in a portable electronic device is provided and comprises: a current regulator which receives supply currents from an external charger, provides a first supply current of the received supply currents for a battery, and provides a second current of the received supply currents to for a load of the portable electronic device; a current detector which detects the first current; and a current controller which generates a control signal for controlling the supply currents received by the current regulator based on the detected first current, wherein the current regulator controls the received supply currents in response to the control signal.
