Abstract

A touch display device includes an active matrix, a driving module, a sensing module and a control unit. The active matrix contains multiple common electrodes, scan lines and data lines. At least portions of the common electrode form a first set of touch electrodes, and at least portions of the data lines form a second set of touch electrodes. The control unit is used to cause the driving module to drive the scan line, the data line and the common electrode to perform the display function in at least one display driving period, and to cause the driving module to drive the first touch electrode set and the second touch electrode in at least one touch sensing period. One of the electrode sets allows the sensing module to receive signals from the other to perform a touch sensing function. In addition, a touch display method is also proposed.
