Abstract

This water dispenser: serves cold water produced below a baffle that impedes the descent of drinking water supplied to a cold water tank through a raw water supply passage from a raw water container, said cold water having a lower temperature than drinking water above the baffle; and prevents unnecessary increases in the temperature of the cold water in the cold water tank. Recesses (29) are formed on the underside of the baffle (13), and air retained inside the recesses (29) produces an insulating effect between the baffle (13) and the cold water. The baffle (13), which is formed by a synthetic resin, is formed in a shape having a flange (26) that follows the inner periphery of the cold water tank (2), with a gap (g) therebetween, and that protrudes downward along the entire circumference of the baffle (13). Only one leg (25), which serves to support the baffle (13) in the cold water tank (2), is formed. The recesses (29) surround advection paths (28), which guide the drinking water from above the baffle (13) to the inside of the baffle and release the drinking water below the baffle, at positions higher than termination outlets (28a) of the advection paths (28), and are formed from the flange (26) to the leg (25), thereby ensuring that the areas of the recesses (29) are large.
