PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing metal powder consisting of fine particles with a uniform size distribution by using an aqueous solvent, and a multilayer ceramic capacitor using the powder.SOLUTION: A method comprises: preparing a first solution containing a metal precursor and an aqueous solvent; preparing a second solution containing a nitrogen (N)-containing surfactant, a reductant and an aqueous solvent; heating the second solution; mixing the heated second solution and the first solution to prepare a third solution; and agitating the third solution to obtain metal particles from whose surfaces nitrogen (N) is detected.
