The invention provides a fingerprint registration method and device. The fingerprint registration method comprises the steps that multiple fingerprint images are obtained, multiple non-border pixel points in each fingerprint image are determined as target pixel points, and the pixel feature value of each target pixel point is calculated, wherein the pixel feature value has the translation invariance property and the rotation invariance property; according to the pixel feature values of the target pixel points, fingerprint images to be stitched are determined in the multiple fingerprint images and then are stitched into a single complete fingerprint image, the single fingerprint image is stored, and then fingerprint registration is completed. Compared with the prior art that features of fingerprint minutiae points are used for registration, the fingerprint registration method and device utilize the pixel points of the images, and namely, finger registration can be conducted as long as images of a fingerprint can be collected under the condition that lines of the fingerprint are destroyed; meanwhile, the obtained multiple fingerprint images are smaller than a single image collected in the prior art, and therefore the fingerprint registration method and device can be well adapted to various small-size fingerprint sensors. In this way, the fingerprint registration method and device are wider in application range.
