[0013] In one embodiment, there is provided an electronic device comprising: a first housing part comprising a wall and a stop member on an interior of the wall; a second housing part attached to the first housing part to form an enclosure; a retractable latch member mounted in the second housing portion to engage the stop member in a first position and release the stop member in a second position, wherein the latch member is resiliently biased to the first position and At least a portion of the latch member is magnetic so that if a magnetic field is applied to the outside of the wall in the vicinity of the stop to interact with the latch member, the magnetism forces the latch member to be repelled to the second position so that the first housing portion can be removed from the second housing portion. Abstract

In one embodiment, an electronic device includes a first housing portion including a wall and a stop member on an interior of the wall; and a second housing portion attached to the first housing portion to form an enclosure. A retractable latch member mounted in the second housing portion engages the stop member in a first position and releases the stop member in a second position. The latch member may be resiliently biased to the first position and at least a portion of the latch member may be magnetic if a magnetic field is applied to the outside of the wall in the vicinity of the detent to interact with the latch member , the magnetically urges the latch member to be repelled to said second position so that said first housing part is detachable from said second housing part.
