Problems solved by technology

However, although the cured product of an epoxy resin composition using an acid anhydride as a curing agent has transparency, its heat resistance is poor, and its transparency tends to deteriorate in a high-temperature environment. In addition, the desired moisture resistance and storage stability cannot be obtained. question
Epoxy resins using phenolic resins as curing agents have heat resistance and moisture resistance, but there are problems in maintaining transparency such as coloring due to oxidation

Embodiment 1

[0146] In a reaction vessel equipped with a stirring device, 5.20 g of 4-(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)phenol as the HFIP group-containing compound (5A) was collected (0.02 mol), 0.60 g (0.02 mol) of paraformaldehyde, and 10 g of acetic acid as a solvent were stirred at room temperature (hereinafter referred to as about 20°C). Next, 2.76 g of concentrated sulfuric acid as an acid catalyst was slowly added dropwise at room temperature while slowly raising the temperature, and the mixture was stirred at 60°C for 5 hours to perform the polycondensation reaction shown below.

[0147]

[0148] n is a positive integer.

[0149] After the reaction liquid was returned to room temperature after the reaction, the reaction liquid was slowly poured into a large beaker containing 200 g of distilled water to precipitate the HFIP-containing novolak resin (2A) containing the repeating unit represented by the formula (2A). After filtering the HFIP group-containing novolac resin (2A)...

Embodiment 2

[0154] To a reaction vessel equipped with a stirring device, 10.96 g (0.04 mol) of 4-(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-hydroxypropane-2 as the HFIP group-containing compound (5B) was added -Yl)anisole, 1.20 g (0.04 mol) of paraformaldehyde, and 60 g of trifluoroacetic acid as a solvent were stirred at room temperature. Next, as an acid catalyst, 7.36 g of concentrated sulfuric acid was slowly added dropwise at room temperature while slowly raising the temperature, and stirring was performed at 60°C for 5 hours to proceed the polycondensation reaction shown below.

[0155]

[0156] After the reaction was completed, the same operation as in Example 1 was performed, and 10.2 g of the HFIP group-containing novolac resin (2B) containing 10.2 g of the repeating unit represented by formula (2B) was obtained with a yield of 89%. The weight average molecular weight and NMR measurement results of the obtained HFIP group-containing novolak resin (2B) are shown below.

Embodiment 3

[0176] The HFIP group-containing novolak resin (2A) obtained in Example 1 was mixed with a bisphenol type epoxy resin (trade name jER-828 manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, epoxy equivalent 190g / eq) and triphenylphosphine were dissolved in PGMEA to prepare a 30% by mass solution. The obtained solution was spin-coated on a glass substrate, and heated and dried in a drying box at 200° C. for 60 minutes to obtain a cured film with a film thickness of 2 μm.

Abstract

Disclosed is a novolak resin containing a repeating unit represented by general formula (1). In the formula, R1 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 linear alkyl group or a C3-4 branched alkyl group, and some or all of the hydrogen atoms in the alkyl group may be substituted by fluorine atoms. R2 is a hydrogen atom, phenyl group, a C1-10 linear alkyl group or a C3-10 branched alkyl group, or a C3-10 alkyl group having a cyclic structure, and some or all of the hydrogen atoms in the phenyl group and alkyl group may be substituted by fluorine atoms. a and b are each independently integers of 1-3, and 2 ≰ a + b ≰ 4. d is an integer of 0-2. This novolak resin has a high dissolution rate in alkaline developer in addition to the heat resistance characteristic of phenol resin.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a novolak resin containing a hexafluoroisopropanol group, a method for producing the same, and a composition thereof. Background technique [0002] In general, phenol resins are obtained by reacting phenols with aldehyde compounds under an acid catalyst or an alkali catalyst. Under an acid catalyst, a thermoplastic novolak-type phenol resin (hereinafter, sometimes referred to as a novolak resin) having a main chain in which phenols are connected via a methylene chain can be obtained. On the other hand, under an alkali catalyst, a thermosetting resol-type phenol resin having a methylol group at the terminal (hereinafter, sometimes referred to as a resol phenol resin) can be obtained. Novolac resins are tough and insulating, and are widely used as adhesives, such as friction materials, general molding materials, laminate materials, shell molds, grinding stones, casting materials, and foaming agents. [0003] In addition, novol...
