Problems solved by technology

Preparation of flush water is expensive due to extensive use of paint bonding and debonding chemicals and due to paint deposit removal
In addition, the air absorbs a large amount of moisture due to frequent contact with flushing water, which in turn leads to high energy consumption for air preparation in circulating air work
In dry separators operating electrostatically, the overspray must be continuously removed from the separating surface, which is often associated with structurally rather laborious measures and correspondingly prone to failure
Furthermore, in such separators the energy expenditure is relatively large

Embodiment Construction

[0045] figure 1 A painting booth 10 of a surface treatment plant, generally designated 12 , is shown in which an object 14 is painted. A body 16 is shown as an example of an object 14 to be painted. Before the body reaches such a paint booth 10 , the body is cleaned and degreased, for example, in a pretreatment station not specifically shown.

[0046] The paint booth 10 comprises a paint tunnel 18 arranged at the top, which is delimited by vertical side walls 20 and a horizontal booth roof 22 , but is open at the end. Furthermore, the paint channel 18 is open downwards in such a way that the chamber exhaust gas loaded with overspray can flow downwards. The chamber roof 22 is generally the lower limit of the air supply chamber 24 and is designed as a filter roof 26 .

[0047] The body 16 is conveyed from the entry side of the paint tunnel 18 to its exit side by means of a conveyor system 28 arranged in the paint tunnel 18 and known per se. Also known per se, a coating devic...

Abstract

In a method for operating a surface treatment installation (12), overspray that is produced in a coating booth (10) is taken up by an air stream and carried to one or more one-way filter modules (40), in which overspray is separated, wherein, once a limit loading with overspray is reached, a one-way filter module is exchanged for an empty one-way filter module. Depending on the nature and characteristics of the overspray, the one or more one-way filter module(s) (40) is / are chosen from a set (62) of different one-way filter modules (64.X). The invention also provides a set of filter modules for use in such a surface treatment installation (12), wherein the set (62) comprises various filter modules (64.X), which are formed as exchangeable one-way structural units with a module housing (66) and a filter unit (78) and through which air from the booth that is laden with overspray can be passed. The module housings (66) of the various filter modules (64.X) have same-connection module inlets (70, 90) and same-connection module outlets (72, 88) and at least the filter units (78) of two different filter modules (64.X) are formed differently. The invention also provides a surface treatment installation with a separating device (40), which comprises such a set (62) of filter modules (64.X).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for operating a surface treatment plant, in which overspray generated in a paint booth is taken up by an air flow and directed to one or more disposable filter modules in which The overspray is separated, wherein after reaching the limit load of the overspray, the disposable filter module is replaced with an empty disposable filter module. [0002] Furthermore, the invention relates to a set of filter modules and a device for the surface treatment of objects, in particular car bodies, which has: [0003] a) a painting booth through which an airflow can be directed, which airflow entrains and outputs the resulting overspray; [0004] b) a separation device into which the gas flow can be fed and in which at least a majority of the solids are separated from the overspray. Background technique [0005] During the manual or automatic application of lacquer to an object, usually a split stream of lacquer comprising both so...
