Abstract

A reaction chamber comprising: a catalyst connected to a power supply of a circuit short-circuit device in use, the power supply having a current limiting circuit configured therein; and a reaction vessel in which the catalyst is placed. Reactants are introduced when short-circuiting the catalyst. The reaction chamber can also be part of a system that includes reactant feedstock and a power source. In operation, a plurality of reactant feedstocks are provided to reaction vessels within the reactor. In the presence of an electroactive catalyst, the catalyst is electrically activated by a short circuit to react the reactants. The product from this reaction is then collected.
