Embodiment Construction

[0038] Various embodiments will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numbers will be used throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like parts. References made to particular examples and implementations are for purposes of illustration, and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention or the claims.

[0039] As used herein, the terms "wireless device," "wireless device," and "user equipment (UE)" are used interchangeably and refer to various cellular phones, personal data assistants (PDAs), palmtop computers, Notebook computer, wireless e-mail receiver (e.g. Blackberry) and devices), cellular phones enabling multimedia Internet (e.g. ) and any of similar personal electronic devices. A wireless device may include a programmable processor and memory. In a preferred embodiment, the wireless device is a cellular handheld device (eg, wireless device) that can communicate via a cellular teleph...

Abstract

A dynamic spectrum arbitrage (DSA) system may include a dynamic spectrum policy controller (DPC) and a dynamic spectrum controller (DSC) that together dynamically manage the allocation and use of resources (e.g., spectrum resources) across different networks. The DSC and DPC may be configured communicate using a DSAAP protocol, component, or communication message. For example, the DSC may be configured to receive a list of resources that are available for bidding via a communication link to DPC using a DSAAP protocol, generate a bid request message to bid on a resource in the received list of resources, and send the bid request message to the DPC. The DPC may receive the bid request message from the DSC, determine whether the bid request message is valid, determine whether the DSC is a winner bidder, and sending a bid won message to the DSC via the communication link using a DSAAP protocol.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application claims the benefit of priority to U.S. Provisional Application No. 61 / 827,911, filed May 28, 2013, entitled "Interfacing between a Dynamic Spectrum Policy Controller and a Dynamic Spectrum Controller," which The entire contents are hereby incorporated by reference. Background technique [0003] With the continued increasing use of wireless communication devices for accessing networks and downloading large files (eg, video files), there is an increased demand on the radio spectrum. Smartphone users complain of dropped calls, slow access to the Internet, and similar problems, largely due to too many devices trying to access the limited RF bandwidth allocated to such devices. However, due to the discontinuous and intermittent use of such voice radio communication bands, certain portions of the RF spectrum, such as the RF bands dedicated to emergency services (eg, police, fire and rescue, etc.), are left largely unused. Accord...
