Abstract

A hunting arrow includes an arrow shaft with front and rear sections. The hunting arrow has at least one blade attached to the shaft and has a closed position and at least one open position. The at least one arrow leaf is substantially flush with the shaft of the arrow when in the closed position and extends radially outward from the shaft of the arrow when in the open position. In addition, hunting arrows have an arrow tip that is attached to the front end of the shaft and can be moved longitudinally toward or away from the shaft. The arrow tip is operatively engaged with the at least one arrow leaf such that the arrow tip opens or closes the at least one arrow leaf by moving relative to the arrow shaft.
