The method comprises the steps of when a screensaver is started, sending broadcast information to other applications by a first application installed in the mobile terminal; according to the received broadcast information sent by other applications, obtaining a version number of configuration information stored in other applications; according to a version number of configuration information stored in the first application and the received version number of the configuration information stored in other applications, obtaining configuration information of a latest version; according to a priority corresponding to applications contained in the configuration information of the latest version, judging whether the first application has the highest priority or not in the first application and other applications; and if yes, displaying the screensaver of the first application. According to the embodiments, the screensaver of only one application can be displayed in the mobile terminal, so that the system stability is improved.
