Embodiment Construction

[0023] Specific examples of the present disclosure will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, this disclosure may be embodied in many different forms, and should not be construed as limited to the examples set forth herein; rather, these examples are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete to those skilled in the art , and fully convey the scope of the present disclosure. The terminology used in the detailed description of the examples shown in the drawings is not intended to limit the present disclosure. In the figures, like reference numerals refer to like elements.

[0024] The following description focuses on valves that control the flow of fluid through flow channels. In particular, the valve can be used in ventilators or medical ventilators. An example of such a valve is an exhalation valve. However, it will be appreciated that the present disclosure is not limited to this application, but may be applied to many...

Abstract

A system and method for controlling a flow is disclosed. The system includes an inlet channel (100, 310) and an outlet channel (200, 320). The inlet channel has an inlet port at a first end configured to be connected to a patient, and a second end with an at least part- annularly shaped aperture (314). The outlet channel has an outlet port at a first end, and an aperture (313) at a second end. The system further comprises a flow channel arranged concentrically outside the at least part-annularly shaped aperture. The flow channel is in fluid connection with the outlet channel. The at least part-annularly shaped aperture of the inlet channel and the aperture of the outlet channel are separated by a seating means (312). The at least part-annularly shaped aperture of the inlet channel and the flow channel are separated by the seating means.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to the field of valves. More specifically, the present invention relates to a valve device for mechanically controlling the flow of at least one fluid through at least one channel. Even more particularly, in some examples, the present invention relates to exhalation valves for use in, for example, medical ventilators or mechanical ventilators. Background technique [0002] It is known that when designing low-pressure valves, especially in the field of gas control for medical ventilators, it is especially important that the flow channels in the valve have low flow resistance and have no or little turbulence. Furthermore, it is often desirable to design valves to be small and lightweight, and it is possible to keep the actuators that control the valves small. [0003] Examples of low pressure valve applications are exhalation valves, patient relief valves, mixer valves, and flow valves in low pressure systems. ...
