Abstract

The present invention relates to methods and systems for switching between fuel injection windows. Methods and systems for simultaneously operating port fuel injectors and direct fuel injectors of an internal combustion engine are described. In one example, port fuel injection windows of different durations are provided to maximize fuel injection quantity and improve accuracy of fuel quantity injected via port and direct fuel injectors during a cylinder cycle.
