The invention provides a message forwarding method and device. The method and the device are applied to a forwarding device. The forwarding device is configured to be a plurality of virtual devices. The method comprises the steps of analyzing a VLAN identifier carried by a received message, wherein the VLAN identifier is used for marking a VLAN network in which a sender device of the message is located; determining a virtual device corresponding to the message according to the VLAN identifier carried by the message; and carrying out corresponding processing on the message according to a predefined strategy when the message matches with the predefined strategy in the corresponding virtual device. In this way, the virtual device can be managed independently, various pieces of service are differently processed, and various pieces of service do not influence each other.
