Abstract

The invention provides a vehicular apparatus. When a first controller (12) is started in a system sleep state in which the first controller and a second controller (16) are both in a sleep state, a vehicular apparatus (1) transitions into a standby state so as to be ready to receive a specific type of data. When the specific type of data is received in this standby state before a reception wait time elapses, the vehicular apparatus starts the second controller, reading out a program and expanding the program into memory, and then transitions into a preparatory state so as to be ready for input of a startup operation. When a startup operation is inputted in this preparatory state before an operation standby time elapses, the vehicular apparatus transitions into an execution state in which the program expanded into memory is executed by the second controller.
