The invention relates to the testing technology field and discloses an adaptive testing system and a method. The adaptive testing system comprises a switch array, a spectrum analyzer, a signal generator, a network accessing device and a client terminal device. The network accessing device, the client terminal device, the signal generator and the spectrum analyzer are connected with the switch array respectively and through the switch array, create and join a physical connection channel. Either the network accessing device or the client terminal serves as a to-be-tested device. The testing process comprises: initializing the spectrum analyzer; configuring the mode, the bandwidth and the channel for the network accessing device; connecting the client terminal device with the network accessing device and transmitting the data streams in the channel; transmitting by the signal generator an interfering signal to the channel; and if through the spectrum analyzer, the data stream transmission in the channel is determined to have stopped, then, determining that the adaptive functions of the to-be-tested device in the mode, the bandwidth and the channel are qualified. With the adaptive testing system, it is possible to detect whether the to-be-tested device has qualified adaptive functions or not.
