Abstract

Provided is a connector for a cable, the connector being configured so that, when the cable is inserted in an insulator with an actuator located at a closed position and external force in the direction in which the cable is turned upward is applied to the cable, the deformation or breakage of the connector is prevented and the separation of the cable in the direction in which the cable is turned upward relative to the insulator can be prevented. A connector for a cable is provided with: an insulator (20) into which and from which a thin plate-like cable (70) can be inserted and removed; a contact (30) supported by the insulator; a rotatable actuator (40); and a stationary fitting (55) affixed to the insulator. The stationary fitting has a cable hold-down section (61) having a flat plate-like shape and extending from a portion of the stationary fitting and facing the cable. The insulator is provided with a facing section (28a) facing the front end of the cable hold-down section from the side opposite the cable when the actuator is located at least at a closed position.
