Abstract

The invention discloses a preparation method of a novel segmented copolymer PCL-b-PBPCS and a novel segmented copolymer PCL-b-PBPCS [polycaprolactone-poly{2,5-bis[(4-butoxyphenyl)oxycarbonyl]styrene} obtained through atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly carrying out ring opening polymerization and bromination on epsilon-caprolactone for synthesizing a PCL-Br macromolecular initiator, then initiating a BPCS [2,5-bis[(4-butoxyphenyl)oxycarbonyl]styrene] monomer by the macromolecular initiator, and synthesizing the segmented copolymer PCL-b-PBPCS through ATRP. The structure of the segmented copolymer is proved by representations of infrared (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The synthesized segmented copolymer has the advantages that a molecular chain contains biodegradable flexible PCL and also contains a rigid liquid crystal polymer PBPCS in charge of providing strength.
