The novel TFT array substrate comprises a glass substrate, and a gate wiring layer, a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines which are successively arranged on the glass substrate, wherein the scanning lines and the data lines are arranged in an insulative cross manner; a grid driver is arranged in the periphery, close to the ends of the data lines, of the glass substrate; via holes are formed in the end portions of the scanning lines; and one end of a metal wire arranged in the gate wiring layer is connected to the grid driver while the other end passes through the via holes and is connected to the scanning lines. By additionally arranging the gate wiring layer on the glass substrate, the grid driver which is originally close to the end ports of the scanning lines is moved to the positions close to the end portions of the data lines. The scanning lines and the grid driver are connected through the metal wire arranged on the gate wiring layer, so that the metal wiring space, close to the end portions of the scanning lines, of the glass substrate is saved, and the width of a BM region, close to the end portions of the scanning lines, of a liquid crystal panel is reduced.
