The method comprises the steps of a) measuring carbon content MC, hydrogen content MH2, sulfur content MS and volatile components MV of the coal powder; and b) calculating the calorific value Q of the coal powder in the blast furnace, wherein Q=Q1+Q2+Q3+Q4, and Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 are defined in thespecification.
