Abstract

The invention relates to a nutrition connposition with oligofructose and optionally high sn-2 palnnitate for down regulating, decreasing or inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacterial populations inthe guts of infants or young children. The infants can be 0-12 months of age and the connposition can be an infant formula. Higher dosage of oligofructose intensifies the effect. The composition promotes a healthy intestinal microbiota.
