Abstract

The method comprises the steps that 1) a minimum point of a cutter serves as a tool setting point, namely a processing start point, a mathematical model is established according to the arc radius R of a workpiece and an arc radius r of the cutter, movement track equations of the minimum point of the cutter are determined, the movement track equation of the minimum point of a convex circular cutter is x2+(y+r)2=(R+r)2, and the movement track equation of the minimum point of a concave circular cutter is x2+(y+r)2=(R-r)2; and 2) the arc of the workpiece is divided into a concave circle and a convex circle, and according to the movement track equations of the minimum point of the cutter and the shape of the workpiece, an arc interpolation instruction is applied for programming. The method has the advantages that cutter radius compensation and cutter position discrimination are not needed, andthe arc of the workpiece can be completed only via G02 and G03 arc interpolation.
