Abstract

Embodiments herein are described primarily in the context of systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for generating sound with enhanced spatial detectability and crosstalk simulation. The audio processing system receives left and right input channels of audio input signals and performs audio processing to generate output audio signals. The system generates a left spatially enhanced signal and a right spatially enhanced signal by performing gain adjustments on side and middle subband components of the left and right input channels. The audio processing system generates left and right crosstalk channels, eg by applying filters and time delays to the left and right input channels, and mixes the spatial enhancement channel with the crosstalk channels. In some implementations, the system includes a high / low frequency boost channel and a through channel derived from the input channel that can be mixed with the output audio signal.
