[0015] In accordance with the principles of the present invention, systems and methods are provided for a steerable device that may include an actuated robotically controlled joint that is guided using an image-guided system to place a guidewire in a sinus or other complex cavity or cavity network. The steerable device may include one or more joints and may be referred to as a robot. The joint is configured to change the shape of the steerable device to guide the device into the correct channel. A guidewire may be placed through the lumen of the steerable device.
