Such pressure transmitters typically require permanent installation within the facility. Disposable pressure transmitters, on the other hand, are specially made for the disposable industry, are lighter and made of polymers. However, these disposable pressure transmitters do not offer the performance qualities of heavier and accurate pressure transmitters. Abstract

A pressure sensing system is presented. The pressure sensing system includes a single use container. The pressure sensing system includes a disposable process connector configured to connect directly to a single-use container. Disposable process connectors have a deflectable diaphragm. The pressure sensing system includes a pressure transmitter. The pressure transmitter is detachably connected to the disposable process connector. The pressure transmitter includes an isolation diaphragm positioned adjacent to the deflectable diaphragm of the disposable process connector. The pressure transmitter includes a pressure sensor module operatively coupled to an isolation diaphragm. The pressure transmitter also includes a controller coupled to the pressure sensor. The controller is configured to transmit an indication of the detected pressure within the single-use container. A pressure transmitter for single-use containers includes a polymer housing and a base with an isolating diaphragm. A sensor module is connected to the base and has a pressure sensor operably coupled to the isolation diaphragm. An electrical circuit is disposed within the polymer housing and connected to the pressure transmitter. The circuitry includes a microprocessor configured to obtain pressure measurements from the pressure sensor and provide an output signal based on the measured pressure.
