Abstract

The invention provides a fluorescent molecular marker of a rice grain width regulatory gene GW8 and primers thereof. The primers include an Allele-AT primer, an Allele-GC primer and a Common-R1 primer. The Allele-AT primer has the sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO:1, the Allele-GC primer has the sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO:2, and the Common-R1 primer has the sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 3. By adopting of the technical scheme of the invention, whether the rice variety contains a GW8 allele with deletion of two bases can be rapidly detected; the method is simple, and the shortcomings of low efficiency and use of toxic substances in the used method at present are solved; the fluorescent molecular marker can be applied to molecular marker-assisted selection of the GW8 allele and improves grain-shape agronomic traits of rice.
