Abstract

The invention provides a random access method and device. The method comprises the following steps: sending target indication information used for indicating a target demodulation reference signal (DRS) proportion value to a terminal; the method comprises the following steps that: a terminal determines a DRS proportion value according to a pre-defined corresponding relation between the DRS proportion value and an LBT mode in a protocol; and after a target LBT mode corresponding to the target DRS proportion value is determined, sending a physical random access channel (PRACH) for carrying out uplink random access to the base station by adopting the target LBT mode. According to the invention, the base station can inform the terminal of the target DRS proportion through the target indicationinformation; therefore, the terminal determines the target LBT mode for sending the PRACH according to the pre-defined corresponding relation between the DRS proportion value and the LBT mode in theprotocol, so that the 5G unlicensed spectrum can be better compatible with WiFi, and the availability of the unlicensed spectrum is improved.
