Abstract

The invention discloses a photon entanglement quantum switching system based on a Rydberg blockage effect. The system comprises an entangled photon generation unit and an entangled photon switching unit, wherein the entangled photon generation unit is used for generating an entangled photon pair, and one entangled photon in the entangled photon pair serves as a detection signal of the entangled photon switching unit; and the entangled photon switching unit comprises a three-dimensional magneto-optical trap, a dichroscope and a polarization beam splitter, wherein the three-dimensional magneto-optical trap provides a three-dimensional atomic ensemble; the dichroscope is used for reflecting externally-input coupling light onto the three-dimensional magneto-optical trap and cooperating with the detection signal to realize transparent electromagnetic induction; and the polarization beam splitter is used for coupling switching control light of externally-input coherent pulses to the three-dimensional magneto-optical trap to realize photon switching control. According to the system, by adjusting the collimation and focusing of the coupling light and the switching control light and increasing the principal quantum number in a Rydberg atom highly-excited state (|nD>) in the three-dimensional atomic ensemble, switching with the switching contrast ratio exceeding 50% is realized, and thesystem plays and important role in construction of a quantum network.
