Abstract

The thermal runaway protection device, the power supply device and the thermal runaway protection method are used for preventing thermal runaway of a battery pack. The battery pack is used for supplying power to an external load; and the thermal runaway protection device comprises a battery management system and a control switch. One end of the control switch is connected to the battery pack after being connected to the battery management system; and theother end of the control switch is connected with the battery pack. When detecting spray explosion of the battery pack, the battery management system controls the control switch to be closed so that the battery pack, the battery management system and the control switch form a closed loop; and therefore, each single battery included by the battery pack is disconnected to stop supplying power to theexternal load.
