The method includes the following steps that firstly, the function relation between the water saturation and thewater phase relative permeability and the oil phase relative permeability of a research object reservoir is established; secondly, a mathematic model used for describing the relation between the water production rate and the water saturation of the research reservoir is established; thirdly, water saturation data, phase permeation partition data, oil relative permeability data, water relative permeability data, water viscosity, oil viscosity and corner-point grid data coordinates in output data are obtained; fourthly, the water production rates of different simulated time of a research reservoir numerical model is calculated; fifthly, water production rate contour line dividing is conducted; and sixthly, the water production rates of different simulation time of the research reservoir numerical model is subjected to contour line tracking, and water production rate contour line data of different simulated time are calculated. By means of the method, the water production rate change rule of the water-drive reservoir can be well analyzed, and therefore the economic benefits of water-drive oil field development are improved.
