Abstract

The invention relates to a bearing closure device (100) and to methods for mounting a bearing (200) on a roll neck and for withdrawing the bearing from the roll neck using a bearing closure device. The bearing closure device (100) comprises a threaded ring (110) that can be pushed onto the roll neck. The threaded ring also comprises an outer thread. Stops (315, 120') are provided on the roll neck,one close to the roll barrel and one away from the roll barrel, for limiting the axial movement of the threaded ring (110). The bearing closure device (100) also comprises a ring nut (130) with an inner thread (132) for screwing onto the outer thread (112) of the threaded ring (110). In order to secure the screwing and unscrewing of the ring nut and to maintain pressure-less screwing whilst the bearing is in operation, a pressure ring (140) is moveably mounted according to the invention, in the axial direction between the bearing (200) and the threaded ring (110). Also, in the threaded ring (110), several screws (115) can be screwed into the axial threaded holes for pressing in the axial direction against the pressure ring (140). Finally, the ring nut (130) can be screwed or adjusted against the pressure ring (140).
