Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for preventing undesired triggering of short circuit or over current protection. An example apparatus (500) includes an output terminal (108); a voltage detection device (506) coupled to a voltage detection input terminal and the output terminal (108) and including a voltage detection output (520) coupled to a logic gate (508) first input terminal; a pulse extender (510) coupled between a logic gate (508) output (526) and a selecting node (528); a multiplexer (522) coupled to the selecting node (528) and configured to be coupled to a first protection circuit (512), a second protection circuit (514), and a driver (540); and a switch (530) coupled between an input terminal (524) and the output terminal (108) and includinga switch gate terminal coupled to the driver (540).
