Abstract

A method and a system for positioning of remote user equipment (UE) are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for locating a remote UE linked to a relay UE is disclosed, the method includes receiving,by an Evolved-Serving Mobile Location Center (E-SMLC), a Location Service Application Protocol (LCS-AP) location request from a Mobility Management Entity (MME) for the remote UE, performing, by theE-SMLC, a location measurement procedure with the relay UE, calculating, by the E-SMLC, an estimated position of the remote UE based on a location measurement of the relay UE and sending, by the E-SMLC, a LCS-AP location response to the MME.
