Abstract

An electrodynamic transducer comprising: a rear frame defining an open frame interior; and a front frame surrounding the open frame interior and attached to the rear frame , the front frame includes a central hub disposed about the central axis of the transducer. A movable diaphragm is positioned within the open frame interior and is operatively connected to the rear frame. A magnet assembly is disposed in front of the diaphragm and coupled to the central hub, the magnet assembly defining a magnetic air gap annularly disposed about the central axis. A voice coil is disposed in the magnetic air gap surrounding the magnet assembly and is operably connected to the diaphragm. A first bearing ring is coupled between the voice coil and the rear frame behind the diaphragm, and a second bearing ring is coupled between the diaphragm and the front frame and is disposed on the vibration front of the membrane.
