Abstract

An air cleaner includes an air cleaning module and a housing. The air cleaning module has a fan housing, a cylindrical filter, a filter frame and a discharge outlet. The housing is coupled to the air cleaning module and has a suction inlet formed with a plurality of through holes. The first part of the housing covers a part of the peripheral surface of the filter and the second part covers another part of the peripheral surface of the filter. The through holes are circumferentially spaced along the outer peripheral surface of the housing. The first and second portions surround the peripheral surface of the filter and the fan housing. The suction inlet includes: a lower suction portion through which air flows radially into the housing and passes through the filter; and an upper suction portion through which air flows in a downward direction along the housing suction flow path and through the filter. A case suction flow path is formed between the inner surface of the casing and the outer surface of the fan case. The invention can improve the cleaning ability and blowing ability of the air cleaner, and makes the filter therein easy to replace and saves space.
