The preparation method comprises the following steps: carrying out esterification reaction on the raw materials, carrying out polycondensation reaction, and carrying out water cooling to obtain the synergistic flame-retardant resin; and granulating the synergistic flame-retardant resin, and carrying out melt spinning to obtain thesynergistic flame-retardant polyester fiber. According to the synergistic flame-retardant polyester fiber provided by the invention, the limit oxygen index of the flame-retardant fiber is greater than or equal to 31%, the flame-retardant grade reaches UL94V-0 grade, and the preparation process of the synergistic flame-retardant polyester fiber is easy to operate.
