Abstract

The invention provides a projection device and an operation method thereof. The projection device comprises a light emitting element, a driving circuit and a control circuit. The driving circuit is coupled to the light emitting element. The driving circuit drives the light emitting element to generate projection light according to at least one control signal. The control circuit receives at leastone video frame and analyzes color content of the at least one video frame. The control circuit selects one of a highlight mode and a normal mode as a selected mode according to the color content, andcorrespondingly sets at least one control signal to the driving circuit according to the selected mode. The brightness of the projection light of the light emitting element in the highlight mode is greater than the brightness of the projection light of the light emitting element in the normal mode. Via the projection device and the operation method thereof, the brightness of the projection lightof the light emitting element can be dynamically increased according to the color content of the video frame.
