Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses a communication method and a related device, which are used for enabling remote UE (User Equipment) to communicate with a network by recovering or establishing relay UE of RRC (Radio Resource Control) connection, so that the communication quality of the remote UE is ensured. The method comprises: a first access network device receiving a first message sentby a first UE, the first message comprising a first identifier of a second UE, the first identifier being an identifier of the second UE in an RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state; the first access network device performs paging of the second UE according to the first message; and the first access network device sends a second message to the first UE, the second message being used for indicating the first UE to perform link switching, the second message comprising a second identifier of the second UE, and the second identifier being an identifier of the second UE in an RRC connection state.
