Embodiment Construction

[0039] figure 1 A system 1 for washing a 3D printed object 4 is shown. The system 1 comprises a washing device 2 for washing a 3D printed object 4 . System 1 also includes workpiece 3 . The workpiece 3 comprises a 3D printed object 4 . The workpiece 3 also comprises a base 5 and a support structure 6 extending between the base 5 and the 3D printed object 4 .

[0040] The washing device 2 comprises a container 7 forming a treatment chamber 8 . In this example, the container 7 has an open tank 7a closed by a lid 7b. However, other configurations may be used. The opening of the tank 7a is oriented upwards. The term "upward" refers to a direction away from the center of gravity. Container 7 contains liquid cleaning agent 9 .

[0041] The container 7 (in this example, specifically the lid 7 b ) has an inlet 10 . In this example, the inlet 10 is formed by a through hole through the cover 7b. The workpiece 3 is inserted into the inlet 10 . Specifically, the workpiece 3 is ...

Abstract

A system (1) for washing a 3D-printed object (4) is provided. The system (1) has a washing device (2) and a workpiece (3) that includes the 3D-printed object (4). The washing device (2) has a container (7) that forms a process chamber (8) for receiving a liquid cleaning agent (9), and the container (7) has an inlet (10) into the process chamber (8). The workpiece (3) further has a support structure (6) that supports the 3D-printed object (4) and a base (5) supporting the support structure (6). The base (5), in a mating relationship with the inlet (10), forms a restraint preventing the workpiece (3) from passing through the inlet (10) in a situation in which the workpiece (3) is placed with the 3D-printed object (4) located within the process chamber (8).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a system for washing 3D printed objects, and in particular to a system having a washing device having a treatment chamber in which a workpiece is arranged, the workpiece being protected from falling into the treatment chamber in the base. Background technique [0002] 3D printing is also widely used in industry. Various technologies and devices for 3D printing objects exist on the market. Some 3D printed devices are based on stereolithography. Data of the object, usually based on computer-aided design (CAD), is typically used to project the light pattern onto the layer of photohardenable resin. Photohardenable resins are generally cured due to light exposure such that a patterned cured resin layer is formed. The desired three-dimensional object is created by successively adding layers. The pattern is thereby controlled according to the desired shape of the three-dimensional object. [0003] Typically, at the bound...
