Abstract

A linear motor and a linear compressor including same, according to the present invention, have a plurality of magnets coupled to a stator having wound coils and have, in a mover, a mover core made ofa magnetic substance rather than of a permanent magnet, wherein the plurality of magnets are magnetized in the same direction, and thus thrust is increased instead of restoring force for the mover core being reduced, such that motor output can be increased. In addition, the present invention is applied to a double air-gap motor so as to facilitate the control of the mover core and enable an assembly operation and a magnetization operation for the magnets to be facilitated. Moreover, the stator comprises an oriented core such that core loss is reduced, and thus motor efficiency can improve.
